Best Places For Engagement Photos In Georgia

Hello newly engaged couples! What an exciting season you’re stepping into. I know you want to soak up every moment and hold onto all the memories that come with this special chapter of your lives.

I’ve been especially excited to write about this topic because I’m newly engaged myself—so I’m right there with you! There are so many beautiful spots here in Georgia that make the perfect backdrop, no matter what style or vibe you’re going for. Honestly, there are so many incredible engagement photo locations in Georgia that my fiancé, Avery, and I decided we’ll probably have a couple of different sessions—some in places that are especially meaningful to us, and others just because they’re too beautiful to pass up. Of course, that’s just my photographer heart getting a little carried away.

For those of you planning just one Georgia engagement session, this guide is here to help. I’ve put together a list of some of the best spots across the state—ranging from stunning free locations you can enjoy with your photographer to venues that require a small fee but are absolutely worth it for the experience and backdrop they provide.

Keep in mind, your engagement session is first and foremost for you and your fiancé—but chances are, you’ll also want to use the photos for things like save the dates, your guest book, or even wedding day signage. That’s why it’s so important to choose a location and style you love, so your gallery feels timeless and true to you.

And here’s something extra to make the planning even easier: all of my wedding photography packages include a complimentary engagement session at the location of your choice. It’s the perfect way to celebrate your love story and get comfortable in front of the camera before your big day. I’m always down to travel to multiple locations if you’re like me and want some variety in your gallery or love multiple locations and can’t decide!

  1. Montaluche Winery | Dahlonega, GA

I’ve been visiting Montaluce Winery with my family since I was a teenager (just for the food and views back then—not the wine!). It’s easy to see why this spot has become such a popular choice for both weddings and engagement photos. Stepping onto the property feels like being transported straight to Tuscany—rolling hills, mountain views, a sparkling pond, vineyards, and lush climbing vines give it that unmistakable European charm. And if you’re hungry after your session, you’re in luck—the restaurant is incredible, with huge glass windows that let you take in the views while you dine.

2. Berry College | Rome, GA

If you’ve ever dreamed of a fairytale setting that brings out your inner princess, this spot is perfect for you! This Georgia college has serious castle-core vibes, with an old-world, European feel that leans more medieval and timelessly romantic. It’s also a wonderful option if you’re not planning a church wedding but still want to give Grandma those classic, cathedral-like photos. The stunning arches here are my favorite—they frame you beautifully and add such a magical touch to every shot.

3. Kittles Island | Darien, GA

I’ll be honest—this location is a bit of a drive for me, but it holds such a special place in my heart. My Nana and Grandad live on Kittles Island, a private island near Jekyll and Sapelo that you can reach by car. I grew up surrounded by the beauty of the coast during the summer, with Spanish moss swaying in the breeze and the scent of sea salt in the air—it’s a vibe that’s both peaceful and unforgettable. In fact, I include travel from Cumming, GA to Jekyll Island Club Resort in my wedding photography packages just for the opportunity to capture memories here. Not only is it a location close to my heart, but it also means I get to sneak in a visit with my grandparents. For me, it’s about giving you a luxury photography experience in a truly timeless setting—without breaking the bank on one of the most important days of your lives.

4. Downtown Historic Norcross | Norcross, GA

Norcross is so special to Avery and I and his where his family lives! Downtown historic Norcross gives a small town vibe and is where a lot of tv shows are being filmed such as the Vampire Diaries.
